Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound selected for Cannes Classics

We’re pleased to announce that Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound has been selected for the Cannes Classics at this year’s festival.

The film takes a behind-the-scenes look into the weird and wonderful world of cinematic sound editing. Looking back through prominent films over the years, the film features an all-star cast of notable film personnel including sound designers Walter Murch (Apocalypse Now, The Godfather) Ben Burtt (Star Wars, Raiders Of The Lost Ark) and Gary Rydstrom (Saving Private Ryan, Toy Story). Directors such as George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, David Lynch, Barbra Streisand, Sofia Coppola, Christopher Nolan and Ryan Coogler also feature. Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound demonstrates the sheer power that sound harbours within filmmaking, creating emotional depth in the films we know and love.

Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound  will premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival before appearing at Cannes Film Festival in May.
