New film Orson Welles to premiere at Cannes

We're pleased to announce the acquisition of Mark Cousins’ latest feature The Eyes of Orson Welles, for world sales and UK distribution. The film will make its world premiere in official selection at the 70th Cannes Film Festival next month, in the Cannes Classics section.

Dogwoof UK plans a UK theatrical release in summer 2018; the BBC has UK broadcast rights, and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and Filmstruck have the TV and SVoD rights in North America.

The feature profiles the life and art of Orson Welles through exclusive access to hundreds of his drawings and paintings, many of which are new to the public eye. Cousins paints a portrait of the artist as never seen before. Executive produced by Michael Moore, The Eyes of Orson Welles shows how his genius lives on today.

"It's hard to get a documentary film out into the world, but Dogwoof are great at it. This is the third of my films that they've taken and, each time, they've done splendid work. Dogwoof is passionate and inventive.  They've helped define what a cinema doc is.  I'm delighted to be part of that." Mark Cousins, Director.

The film screens Thu 10 May and Sunday 13 May, 9:45, at Palais C.
