Two films win awards at Sundance Film Festival

We're delighted to share the news of awards for Minding The Gap and MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Rounding off the ten-day festival, the ceremony recognises some of the very best of the fest.

Three young men bond together to escape volatile families in their Rust Belt hometown in award-winning Minding The Gap. Winner of the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Filmmaking, the film follows the trio as they face adult responsibilities, unexpected revelations threaten their decade-long friendship.

The movie on the international artist, MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A., took home the World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award.  Drawn from a cache of personal tapes shot by Maya and her closest friends over the last 22 years, the films captures her remarkable journey from immigrant teenager in London, to the international popstar M.I.A.
