Dogwoof Sales

Dogwoof believes that a good film can make a big difference. Happy with the work we do in the UK, filmmakers often come to us asking if we’d be interested in representing their films globally. And this is how Dogwoof Global Sales came about, a consultancy agent based service designed to help documentary filmmakers promote and sell all their film rights globally.

What we look for

We look for compelling documentaries with theatrical potential, strong narrative-driven stories, stories about exceptional people, and specialist subject documentaries with a clear niche.

What we are about

  • We aim to represent just a few films a year so that we can dedicate a sufficient amount of time and attention to each film individually.
  • We see ourselves as the filmmakers’ representatives, as facilitators rather than salesmen. We are happy for the filmmakers to retain film rights and have final approval on how those rights are exploited.

Services

  • Rough Cut evaluation – with regards to the international market, how to make it more appealing to attract a wider outreach. The evaluation will contain assessment on the material as well as “in detail” suggestions on what and how to change to make it commercially viable for the international market, including where we think your film can be sold to.
  • International Festival Strategy – List of Festivals tailored to the type of documentary you have and assessment through the first year on how to handle/negotiate with Festivals
  • Festival Representation: Includes Festival submissions, coordination of print, tape movement, travel arrangements for talent, screening fee negotiation.
